Neoka's Song

When everything is in harmony, there is no chaos. When the world chants, we listen. When the birds sing, spring rises. When the winds blow, we feel the rhythm move us... Life is a song, and I intend to share it with you.

9:30 went out for dinner at this place where we sat on sunders (like tables) and ate out of bowls called kyari or something. was great fun, especially when i impressed everyone with my Urdu by saying 'aapke khubsurat hai'

as you can see the days are quite different and very random - a cultural component that is tough to adapt to, especially when there truly is so much to be done. But I am loving every second of this experience, especialy the challenges :)

Voice of Karachi

When 3 guys are stuck in a hot house late at night, without internet and only a radio station to listen to... what happens???

Well, listen to the following clip taken from the radio station of the voice of Karachi.

(no animals were harmed in the making of this clip - pure parody only, what fool would actually do this???)

More fun from Karachi ahead...

Jumpin in the Indus

No, I didnt actually jump in the Indus, nor will I. But am considering it. Being a Gora (white person) in this beautiful country sure is interesting, if it isnt random stares, its hijras flirting with me, or prices doubling as soon as i walk in the room. Its also suposed not being served food! last night the waiter didnt bring mine of all ppls food! I laugh about it now, but damn was I hungry, poor Puneet Delia and Emad for having to put up with my crankiness from lack of food.
But never fret, dominos saved the day!

Actually, it was the server, he screwed up on all our orders, it was just funny that the Gora was the one not to get served. :)

Well house hunting is fun, we found a great place thats 5min walk away from the office. And the Office has A/C yea!!

InshaAllah, we will move in this week before Joanna from Sweden arrives to complete us (team)

Welcome to the land of... Pakola?

Hey everyone!

its been a few days but it is true! I HAVE LANDED in PAKISTAN

It has been a long trip and tiring trip, but when I arrived at the crack of dawn into Karachi Airport, being tricked by the LC to thinking I got ditched and then getting floral reefs being thrown around my head!

2 hours after landing, I got to the appartment, changed and went on a marketing call with a board of advisors who wants to sign like 5-6 internships! Hows that for productivity? AFter that I met most of the members, got a new cell number (msg me for it) and then went to eat Masala, was excellent, but NOT near spicy enough!

First impressions of Karachi? Hot and crowded. Some scenes remind me of Nairobi, with people lining the streets, cars driving on the wrong side of the road (british system) and so HOT. Honestly, AC is my greatest friend.

Ive adopted the nicknames of Gora (white guy) and Casper (figure that one out)

Puneet is here as well! PNUT MAMU as they call him (Uncle Pnut)
Its been great seeing a familiar face aswell - BROTHER, ITS BEEN SO LOONNG! Aapke Jaan will go on...

Besides having an animated time with all the members. planning various meetings and dodging the heat, ive already found a great drink that is hugely popular here - Pakola. So much SUGAR. I'll be im trouble, haha...

More deep reflections later on, right now I need to get back to work... yes Saturday is a work day ;)
