Neoka's Song

When everything is in harmony, there is no chaos. When the world chants, we listen. When the birds sing, spring rises. When the winds blow, we feel the rhythm move us... Life is a song, and I intend to share it with you.

The Constant Gardner

Well it is true, for all that told me to see this film, you were right. It was worth it.

What particularily intreagued me the most was its raw honesty the movie sets. What upsets me the most is that when people view this, they will see a fiction. Well maybe the story was a fiction, but thats it! Honestly thre are 2 films within 1. 1 is the story of 2 british commissionioner with a passion (damu) for life, and the other was a reality scene set in Kenya on the harsh realism of corporate capitalism that perpetuats a glass bowl around the worlds greatest casualties.

I am however pleased to see a conscience coming through media, with movies like Hotel Rwanda, Beyond Borders, and now Constant Gardener. These arnt small independents either. I just hate when i hear reviews on how these are such downer movies. DOWNER movies? downer movies are american hollywood hype that re-strokes the superpowers egos, like in the Alamo.
(pardon the charged boldness) At least to me it comes across that way.

I vow to return to Kenya and Kibera... being there changed me, forever.

I agree Kurt... I saw the movie in the theatre with some people that are totally naive to the situation in Kenya and their first opinion was that it was just a movie, that it wasn't real etc.

Don't worry... I told them the truth.
