What is Nationalism?

The Problem with nationalism is that it ends there. I remember my first sociology teacher asking us to rate our patronage to: our city, our province and our Country. The answer is supposed to represent what we identify with most. I say there should be a 4th option: our Earth. I would much rather consider myself a citizen of the world that claim nationalism if it means opposition to other fellow “citizens of the world” – In truth, I would rather be Human than Canadian.
